The Impacts !

Still waiting for da wild Instrumental Party Vol.III ?
Aaaaaaaaa c’mon, wait patiently with the Impacts !

Our guys were a surf instrumental group from California that originally lasted from 1960 to 1964. The band included Merrell Fankhauser on lead guitar, John Oliver on bass guitar, Steve Evans on rhythm guitar, Martin Brown on pedal steel guitar, Joel Rose on wild-saxophone and Steve Metz on drums ! (if I'm correct of course)

The Impacts:
* Fort Lauderdale *
* Steel Pier *
* Impact *

By the way, if you want some reposts, it’s your lucky day, I’m launching ‘Tales From The Archives, Part II’ on a special post next week !!!
So if you want to hear something you missed or something you, hum, missed (songs, not mixes please !), write your wishes in the comments, email me, fax me, and of course, you can send me pigeon post.
Cheers my dears !

Oh, yer teasing me with WIP III. I will patiently wait tho.

I do have two requests for songs if you're feeling the love. Both are from Evil Party Mix, but i'd love to have the individual tracks of "Devils Train" by the Chuck-a-luks, and "El Diablo" by Frankie Laine. I haven't been able to get either of those songs out of my head for almost a year now.

How about some more Jesse Belvin or Bunker Hill - Red Riding Hood & The Wolf'- give it some serious thoughts man !

Yeah! Please re-up anything you got by Bob Landers and Willie Joe! These "Twitchty" and "Unitar" things! Besides to the Cherokee Dance I've only found one more song (River Rock)to download at thehound.net in bad quality.

By the way, if u don't know King Khan and his Shrins, check'em out. You'll love it!

REV!

I am embarassed to say i only JUST listened to the Zombie 2 mix today. It is a truly spectacular one. I loved every song on it! (and the sound bytes that sound sooo familiar ;) I could see the whole movie playing out in my head. 'Such A Night' will never sound the same way again! You're still single-handedly thee best underground horror host/DJ this side of hell.

My father was the lead singer of the Impacts who is not mentioned for some reason??

James William Metz aka "Jack Metz"
He is the one in the upper right hand corner of the photo posted.

He WAS the voice of the IMPACTS! His voice was very distinct and better than anyone in the band! ...and my uncle Steve Metz
was the drummer....
They have both since passed away from cancer which is truly tragic. They both are missed and should not be forgotten by the overshadowing of another band member still trying to take all the credit and the money from the royalties! People are greedy and SAD!---

Strange running across this blog. I originally was googling Lee Michaels and Wikipedia said he started out with Merrell Fankhauser and then I found this blog. John Oliver was my ex-brother-in-law. Just wondering which one is your father??
