A Bloody New Years Eve Party Mix !!!

I will kill you, 2005

Well well well,
First, I hope you all had a nice christmas (or whatever the hell you celebrate).
Gee, thanx for the kind words on the previous post (i’m telling ya, something’s wicked’s coming your way...thanx Sami)
And yes, here we go, we’re closing 2005 with a long long mix (one hour !) .
Why one hour ? because you’ll be playing this at midnight and I predict that everyone will be drunk at one o’clock. Yup, this year has been a hell of a year, so you can drink a lot (you have my blessing).
Well, I just wanted to thank YOU for keep reading this site and for your support of course, whether I do remember your names or not (and the list is long, believe me), and thanx to all the good people on the ‘blogosphere’ (Shit, I really have to find another word)
2006 sounds really good to me (sorry, can’t explain that) , I hope it sounds good to you too.
So, enjoy this lil’ piece of bric-a-brac (every song has its meaning of course haha),
and see you next year !!!

Love from Hell,
Rev …

So, this is my whishlist for this years christmas :

2. For heaven’s sake, bring me more friendly people like those who hang around on this site.
3. For Christ’s sake, give some wild rock’n’roll to all the stupid governments all around this small planet.
4. And for fucks sake, bring me a recording contract godammit.

Your pal, Rev Frost.

Ray Gerdsen with The Yellow Jackets produced records with a nice South Louisiana fell and indeed show the rocking side of swamp-pop music at its best !
(‘Bye Bye Baby’ is a real barnstormer while ‘Fatty Hattie’ is definitely inspired by Larry Williams’s ‘Bony Moronie’)
And Gardsen fronted the Yellow Jackets who have the slower paced blues instrumental ‘Chickee Town Rock’ – there is a great strolling mood on this !

Jericho !

"Now Jericho was shut up from within and from without because of the people of Israel; none went out, and none came in. And The Lord said to Joshua, "See, I have given into your hand Jericho, with its king and mighty men of valor. You shall march around the city, all the men of war going around the city once. Thus shall you do for six days. And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before The Ark; and on the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, the priests blowing the trumpets. And when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, as soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city will fall down flat, and the people shall go up every man straight before him." (Joshua 6:1-5 RSV)

The Dead Rocks !

Gosh , I’m still twistin’ and shakin’ all over the place…
I saw an EXCELLENT band last night, and when I say excellent, I mean it !
(call from a friend at 9 o’clock, grab my hat, my dawn of the dead t-shirt, and vamos to Marseille).
So hell yeah, Rev Frost brings you….THE DEAD ROCKS from Brazil!
‘Since 2002 on activity, they have become a great Brazilian Surf Music icon, by playing in several stages in São Paulo, besides a tour over Santa Catarina beachs and perform on 4o. and 5o. Surf Mineiro Championship, in Belo Horizonte city, the biggest Latin America Festival.’
THE DEAD ROCKS is formed by the legendaries Marky Wildstone (drums), Frank Funk (bass) and Johnny Crash (electric guitar) – you can’t find nicer guys by the way.
Well my dear friends, the only thing you have to do is check out their upcoming shows (Europe only , but you can book ‘em anywhere), buy their fantastic first record, enjoy the wild ride,

The Dead Rocks - Beach's Bit…

Action Woman !

An exemplar of '60s punk, "Action Woman" still sounds pretty damn nasty today !
This excellent garage band (The Electras) was formed in Ely, Minnesota back in 1961 or 1962, starting out as an all-instrumental band. Over time, they added a vocalist, and became one of the Midwest's hottest bands.
Written by producer Warren Kendrick, ‘Action Woman’ was in fact recorded as a demo by The Electras, and he actually released the Litter’s version as a single. Of course I like both versions but the first I’ve ever heard was by The Electras (think I was 12 or 13, imagine what a song like that can do to a teenager…and hell yeah, I’ve found my action woman, but it’s the not the subject)

The Electras - Action Woman
The Electras - Soul Searchin'
The Electras - Dirty Old Man

What ? Louder please ! Oh, you wanna hear the Litter’s version ?
Et voilaaaaaaa.

1st Friday Bonus !

The Litter - Action Woman

2nd Friday Bonus !(which has nothing to do with the rest. At all.)
